Recent Releases of Geoclimate
Geoclimate - v1.2.0
💪💪💪💪💪
New major version of GeoClimate.
💪💪💪💪💪
This version contains numerous improvements.
- New indicators (e.g passive volume ratio, intermittent water fraction, building height distribution, sea land fraction, street width... )
- The ability to produce outputs for microclimate models such as TARGET (roof, road, watr, conc, Veg, dry, irr columns).
- New OSM tags to build the GIS layers for the abstract model (e.g. permanent water, building shape roof, road lane number, dam, swimming pools, etc.)
- Adjustment of the height prediction model for OSM
- Optimisation of several algorithms in GeoClimate and in the H2GIS database
- Improved formatting of BDTopo data (version 2X and greater)
- Ability to calculate indicators from a point plus a distance to determine a bbox
- Improved reconstruction of sea areas and islands from OSM
- New documentation https://geoclimate.readthedocs.io/en/latest/
and many more...
Please see the closed issues for more details.

Geoclimate - GEOCLIMATE DEODE version
This page provides access to a customised version of GeoClimate built as part of the DEODE project (Destination Earth - On-Demand Extremes / DE330).
DEODE project aims to deliver a pre-operational capability for a flexible, configurable, European monitoring and prediction framework providing decision-making support at continental, country, coastline, catchment and city scales in response to meteorological, hydrological and air quality extremes (https://destine.ecmwf.int/).
The GeoClimate team is working with the CNRM (Centre National de Recherches Météorologiques) to build a European database of physiographic indicators that will be used to feed climate models.
To meet this challenge, which requires analysing and processing the OSM database on a European scale, the GeoClimate software has undergone numerous adjustments.
They are listed here : https://github.com/orgs/orbisgis/projects/2
This version of GeoClimate includes a new algorithm to remove RSU (spatial units) with complex shapes (e.g elongated polygon). This algorithm has been developed specifically for the needs of the project.

Geoclimate - GeoClimate 0.0.1
This is the first official release for the GeoClimate tools.
It contains modules to process the BDTopo v2.2 and OSM data (from overpass api) and computes a set of climate related parameters describing a territory (morphological indicators such as Sky View Factor, urban classifications such as Local Climate Zones, etc.).
See the PDF file GeoClimate_0.0.1_documentation.pdf to get the GeoClimate documentation.
The geoclimate-0.0.1.jar contains the whole GeoClimate modules with the dependencies. To run it, execute in a terminal
java -jar geoclimate-0.0.1.jar -h
