It aims to:\n\n - Ensure transparency, flexibility, and reproducibility in emissions calculations.\n - Facilitate easy saving, editing, and redistribution of results.\n - Encourage community contributions to extend functionality.\n - Provide a user-friendly interface through Shiny for users with limited programming experience.\n\n## Functions in `carbonr`\n\nThere are different types of functions in `carbonr`. There are travel and accommodation based estimates based on general activities, making them easier to use without detailed knowledge of specific inputs:\n\n**Travel-Related Emissions**\n\n - `airplane_emissions()`\n - `ferry_emissions()`\n - `rail_emissions()`\n - `land_emissions()`\n - `vehicle_emissions()`\n\n**Accommodation-Related Emissions**\n\n - `hotel_emissions()`\n - `building_emissions()`\n - `office_emissions()`\n - `household_emissions()`\n\n#### Raw Input-Based Emissions\nThese functions allow for more precise calculations by inputting specific values, such as the quantity of materials used:\n\n - `construction_emissions()`\n - `electrical_emissions()`\n - `material_emissions()`\n - `metal_emissions()`\n - `paper_emissions()`\n - `plastic_emissions()`\n - `raw_fuels()`\n\n#### Clinical Emissions\nThese functions are specific to calculating emissions from clinical and medical activities:\n\n - `anaesthetic_emissions()`\n - `clinical_emissions()`\n - `clinical_theatre_data()`\n\nAll functions return carbon-equivalent emissions in tonnes. A Shiny app is available via `shiny_emissions()` for a GUI-based calculation.\n\nSome examples demonstrating how to use the `carbonr` package functions can be found in the vignette.\n\n## Additional Features\n\n**Beyond the Emissions Available in the 2025 UK Report**\n\nAdditional functions are available for emissions not covered in the UK Government report, such as those related to operating theatre waste. Further details on using the operating theatre waste functions are provided in the vignette.\n\nThe `carbon_credit_price()` function provides values based on [World Bank data](https://carbonpricingdashboard.worldbank.org/).\n\n**Shiny App**\n\nAn interactive calculator using Shiny can be accessed by the `shiny_emissions()` function.
