Environmental Assessment Model (GLEAM).**\n\nThis package provides a modular implementation of GLEAM to quantify environmental impacts from livestock agrifood systems. \nThe model simulates herd dynamics and quantifies key metrics, including animal-sourced food production, energy requirements and \nfeed intake, nitrogen balance, and greenhouse gas emissions from enteric fermentation, manure management, and upstream feed production.\nThe package also allocates estimated emissions to major animal products and services. \n\n## Purpose\n\nThis package supports the sustainable transformation of livestock systems by enabling evidence-based decision-making through \na transparent and reproducible modeling framework.\n\nThe **official GLEAM workflow** allows users to:\n\n- Simulate steady-state herd dynamics to disaggregate animal herds into age and sex-specific cohorts\n- Compute annual production of animal products and herd growth rate\n- Estimate animal energy requirements for maintenance, activity, growth, lactation, pregnancy, work, eggs, and fiber production\n- Compute nutritional contributions of user-defined feed rations per cohort\n- Estimate dry matter intake and nitrogen balance\n- Estimate methane (CH~4~) emissions from enteric fermentation\n- Estimate CH~4~ and nitrous oxide (N~2~O) emissions from manure management\n- Estimate carbon dioxide (CO~2~), CH~4~, and N~2~O emission related to the production, processing and transport of feed \n- Allocate estimated emissions to major animal products and services\n\n## Model Coverage\n\nThe model currently
