course Applied Geodata Science II taught at the University of Bern.\nThe material has been provided by Madlene Nussbaum and turned into this tutorial by Pascal Schneider.\n\n## Setup\n\n- Clone this repository\n- Get the raw data (`soildata` and `geodata` folders) and put them under `./data-raw/`\n- Install {renv} and install all required R packages when opening the `digital_soil_mapping.Rproj`\n\nTo render book locally in RStudio, run these commands in the console:\n\n```r\nrenv::status()\nrenv::load()\nrenv::restore()\ninstall.packages(\"quarto\")\nquarto::quarto_render(\"book\")\n```\n\nThen open the file: `book/_book/index.html`\n\n## Page Deployment\n\nThis repository is not rendered through GitHub runners because of the large tiff files required. To update the online deployment with new content, one has to create a fork (important: fork both branches, not just the main branch), get the data as described above, do desired changes, and run the bash command `quarto publish gh-pages`.
